The surgery unit has three major operating room suites and a large recovery room. The unit has 24-hour coverage with Registered Nurses, and Certified Nurse Anesthetists.

Fannin Regional Hospital's operating rooms are fully equipped to perform general, obstetrical, gynecological, ophthalmological, dental, otolaryngological (ear, nose, and throat) and orthopedic procedures.

The surgery unit has state-of-the-art laparoscopic equipment, offering the latest technology including the "mini-site" surgical technique. The majority of the procedures can now be performed on an outpatient (same day surgery) basis or requiring only a minimal hospital stay.
